Indian Railways Tatkal Reservation system has become a complete core of "Corruption". I am sorry I cannot use any pleasing word or sentences here, coz this is quite serious situation for the General citizens of India who need to travel urgently and are trying to avail tickets through Tatkal scheme.
Last three days I have been trying to get ticket for "Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Prashanthi Express" under Tatkal scheme. And unbelievably everyday, be it online or at Reservation Counter, the availability status of Tatkal for this train is coming a WL12 immediately after the start (i.e @ 8:03AM), where as when the same status is checked @ 7:55AM the availability status is 46 Berths.
Practically it is next to impossible for all the 46 Berths to booked in 3 minutes after the opening of the Counter(allowing Tatkal booking via IRCTC.co.in as well), all three consecutive days, i.e., 1 May for 2 May, 2 May for 3 May, 3 May for 4 May train.
I am dead sure even tomorrow i.e., 4th May if I try for Tatkal (either at counter or via irctc.co.in) the status would become from 46 berths @ 8:00AM to WL @8:03AM thanks the prevailing corruption.
Hoping to get some response (anyways there is no HOPE of Action Against Corruption in India).

i am facing the same issue since 3 days 20th, 21st and 22nd of may'2012. The status would become from 46 berths @ 7:55AM to WL/34/WL/15 @8:01AM. This is amazing improvement of selling 51 tickets in less than 1 minute.
I Hope IRCTC investigates and kills these scams.

This is only tip of the iceburg. Practically, the website is down when u need it the most urgently. The system will throw you out at the last minute .. Payment gateways will be blocked, verification code is hung and payment screen shows a junk format so that u dont figure out where to input credit card details. The seats will vanish in front of your eyes and u just cant do anything. U r helpless. Whereas agents will get u a confirm ticket and will also get a wating ticket confirmed. There is absolutely no transparency. The tickets which are booked long ago continue to remain waitlisted whereas tatkal waiting gets confirmed. There is no independent supervision or audit on reservation system. It should br better privatized.
