Complain No: 070668, Date:08.04.2012, Train No:16324, Train Name:Shalimar Express, Coach No: B-2, Berth Nos: 27,28,29,30, PNR No: 650-7701295, Trave;;ing from Shalimar, Kolkata to Visakhapatnam.
I boarded the train at Shalimar, Kolkata to travel upto Visakhapatnam and found that the Bed-roll items like bed-sheets, pillow-covers were extremely dirty. No towels were provided. The bed-roll items were so dirty as if they had not been washed/cleaned for weeks. On asking the concerned person/attendant and the TTE of the coach, it was informed that the supply was like that and they can not help as all the pieces are equally dirty. On further enquiry from the fellow passenger who had better experience of the subject train it was known that the practice of supplying dirty Bed-Roll iltems on that train is going on since last four-five years despite frequent complaints by the passengers. This was confirmed by the TTE of the coach also who booked my complaint. I request the concerned authorities of the railways to immediately cancel the tender of the existing Bed-Roll Supplier and deploy a better supplier who can supply clean and hygienic materials in the train. Please donot forget to intimate me about the action taken by railway and do send me a copy of the Action-Taken Report immediately after the action.
