Complaint against Ticket Collector - ( No name plate)

Dear Sir,

I, along with my family traveled from Bhadrachalam Road to Secunderabad by 12757 Manuguru super fast on 05-05-12. We had confirmed 4 tickets in coach S2 with PNR No 4553324366, seat Nos 43, 45, 46 & 48 and 2 seats in coach S4 with PNR No 4********8, seat Nos 42 and 43. However, we boarded in coach S2 and asked the Ticket collector to adjust our 2 seats which were in coach S4 to coach S2 all in the same coach.

While Ticket Collector, checked the e-ticket print out and asked for Identity proof which I produced. He was drunk and started misbehaving instead of alloting the vacant seats in the same coach; he was busy allotting the seats to ordinary ticket holders who handed him some monetary benefit, though I 'm not able to recollect the seat nos. correctly.

When I noticed this, I questioned him his actions. But, he tried to evade himself by asking me to produce Identity proofs of all the family members who were travelling on the ticket. There were two children travelling with us of age 14, when we produced school ID card as Identity proof he refused it and fined us for travelling without ticket. I had to pay an amount of 834.00 as excess fare ticket N 0061651, fare 334.00 and fine of 500.00 even after having confirmed and valid ticket. The worst part is, we couldn’t occupy our seats even after paying twice for the same ticket with a fine of 500. The TC allotted the seats to someone else by putting some cash in his pocket.
When I asked Ticket collector to furnish his details, he refused and importantly he was drunk on duty and without name badge.
I want some serious action to be taken on such employees who are hindering the reputation of the whole railway department.
Thanks & Regards:
Mohammad Muntaz Ali

yep! you are right mr.ali. i too encountered with this kind of ticket collectors many times, who works only for their monetary benefits. it causes a big loss to the government exchequer. As this loss can dampen the growth of Indian Railways and is harmful to the nation.

Almost many TCs are dishonesty whom i encountered with. I am conducting survey from passengers as a part of my research and soon going to provide details of dishonest and soliciting bribe from passengers with proofs
